Yesterday I got this saw and ironically it has the same metal fittings for the fuel lines as my 1953 Homelite 26LCS. The lines rotted out and I also need lines for the Homelite so I was wondering how I could make these lines myself and buy some fittings that would fit 1/4 fuel lines. Has anyone else tried that on old saws?

Making up fuel lines for vintage saws is very common, actually most old saws need them replaced if you want them in running condition. Most any brass fittings required are available and 1/4" fuel line is still common.

Wonder how copper tubing and flair fittings converted over to the appropriate size pipe fitting would work.

To find the fittings you need a good automotive supply company .Usually Autozone types won't have them .Depends on the type .Invert types of flares are brake lines which takes an invert type of flaring tool but can be purchased in short lengths .If they are compression fitting with ferrules I'd just use copper myself but you could use steel if you wanted it is just more difficult to shape
