The main differences between the MS 192 T and MS 193 T are:

MS 193 T:
2-cycle stratified scavenged engine
Lower fuel consumption
Chain sprocket cover with captive bar nut

Is the 193 stratified engine better or worse for performance or longevity compared to the older 192?

why is that? do you think it runs better or something?

I hate how low the 193 is rev limited is really what it is..

They're both plastic saws and obviously aren't up to a 200/201 and serve a purpose, I like the 192 better for the speed alone.

I guess I need to try a 192 I know the 193’s seem to do pretty decent after I open the exhaust, advance the timing and retune the carb after pulling the limiters. I’ve done 4 so far and the owners really like them now compared to what they were off the shelf. But they will never be a 200.

I really liked the 192tc I had. I opened up the exhaust and advanced it. It spooled up quickly and cut good with a 12” bar. I sold it to a tree crew after I found a 200t and 201t. When I spoke to them this past fall, they were still running it. They’ve been running it about 2 years now.

They do ok opened up with a timing bump..i just can't tune em' where id like before they smack off the limiter.

Just wondering if a 192 coil will fit the 193? Maybe you could get rid of the rev limiter then.

Ok I’ve never messed with a 192, everyone local uses 200’s and when some wanted lighter saws the 193’s were already here. Only found a few overpriced ones on feebay

I like my 192 mastermind did timing advance and a muffler mod. with those few changes it runs good for what i've use it for. keep a sharp chain on it and it does fine
