It looks like an air bubble under the plating. Not good if that's the case because a lot more around the area will flake off when a ball burr hits it.

That was my thought...I’m betting the flaking would spread.

I wonder if that’s the reason it’s still around. Maybe it was opened at a dealer then put back on the shelf after they took a look at it and then forgotten about.
I would return it

I think it can be hit with a burr and fixed. It looks like it would leave no more than what you'd get with a husqvarna decomp hole, less the actual hole.

Bring it with you next time you're up this way and I'll clean it up.

For my own saw I would buzz that bubble out to see how far the flake goes, if under 1/4" I would run it with no hesitation, if it reaches a half inch then still run it and check it after 5 -10 tanks to see how its doing.
