saw is amazing, only thing I did was tossed westcoast dress on it, has Weber Custom full wrap, 4point pro safety & ext clutch cover/chain roller (oem). I also have oem handle and clutch cover for flush/east coast setup as well. Saw has 4 tanks through it since purchased from doc and still runs flawless. Selling because I have ocd and have since gotten a ported 390xp and stock 620pw I’m playing with. SHE GONE!

You should add MOFO Ported to you thread title, even throw the price up there for faster sale.
Ported to the title would be a little misleading. It’s a modded 044. Looks like Doc cut the base and did a nice muffler mod after he rebuilt it... that alone does wake these up nicely though. The 044/440 take well to simple mods.

How would you say this runs compared to a stock 461? I need a midsize saw for my arsenal...

Its 7 cc's smaller and a pound lighter that the 461. The smaller displacement puts it in a lower class. The 461 will handle any obstacle you place in front of it, especially if that's your "mid-size"saw. But my 2cents are rusty n worthless.... So do not let me discourage or influence you not to purchase this what looks to be a choice lil bad ass ripper.

Thanks guys I appreciate your input. I've run a lot of 461s but have very little experience with the 044s. I had one a couple of years ago and always remember it being a nice little saw, but never did a straight-up comparison to a 461

And if I was to recommend new smaller saw, 620p from echo, for 60cc class

Where did the killer dogs come from? I can’t quite read the top of em. I need a set of those for the 440 and 661.

JessE, those are pro safety dawgs, you can get them from madsens, baileys, cowlitz river rigging etc. madsens will be the best price if bought new. You can get them used on this site sometimes just post in parts, they come in 4 point & 5 point.

Oh man, I almost forgot about those things. Gotta go check em out now. Thank you. I assume, I mean hope they make them for other models too.
