My friend needs a 056 ignitition module. Found a aftermarket co, in germany I think. Not sure if he should order. Any good? Or anyone have one or advise, or a better direction? Thanks Norm.

He would need to make sure that it's compatible with the flywheel/magnet structure he currently has. There were different versions - Bosch points, Bosch solid state, SEM solid state early, SEM solid state later.

The Bosch flywheel/magnet structures for the solid state modules are not interchangeable with the SEM. The Bosch magnet structure for points is not interchangeable
with the magnet structure for the solid state module.

If you are ambitious there is a repair on AS. Start reading here if your are interested. The guy (foggysail) goes through the whole process in earlier pages.

(Mods, I hope it was OK to send someone elsewhere for help.)

The repair on as is above my pay grade but I have done this several times on my old dolmars that have the Bosch setup. Pretty easy only takes a few minutes and seems to work well
