I'll get you some pictures of my 029/390 muffler the next day or so. If you have a 1/2 drill bit and a hacksaw,grinder or wire clipper you're golden. Probably the easiest muffler ever to modify.

Yeppers 028 is totally different from a 029-390. My example won't help you any.

Anybody else have a modded 028 to help him out?

I sold my standard 028’S a while ago, but if memory serves, the outer shell comes off and enlarging the opening helps, I would bump the timing as well and retune. And if your up for it an base gasket delete is probably a good idea too!

I have tools to do pretty much anything. But I’ve never messed with timing on a saw or any 2 stroke for that matter

There are lots of videos an pics if you look it up. But basically you take off some material off the flywheel key so the flywheel is advanced, about .020 is the standard amp off. Do some research, and you will be able to do it!
