I have a 400C and its not a PITA to work on. I see the 400.1 one as basicly the same in that regard.

Looks like the lightened up the conrod to take some stress off the crank bearings. Also I am surprised to see the single butterfly carb.

Just using a car battery charger, so 12V. Some people say has to be an old style charger. I use ones from garage sales. Philbert

Our wells can go over 1000 ft or 305 meters in your measurements. They have plastic casings so I am not sure what you are saying.
