You may well be correct. I just ordered a new tank vent from Chainsawr . I ordered 2 I'll try again to nip just a tiny amount and keep one in tact. Is the vent designed to relieve pressure in the tank or to allow air in to prevent a vapor lock?

Mine leaks a fair amount every time I refuel. Open and close the fuel cap.

You forgot to mention the saw would dump gas from that vent after trimming the duck bill!!

    SELLING Cherry Dolmar 5105

Mine would definitely flood easily. The dealer is bought it from warned me about it flooding easily. There was definitely pressure in the tank ,gas squirted out when I pulled the red plug. Am I gonna need to returned after this mod?

    SELLING Cherry Dolmar 5105

Yep , same pics I saw ,I did it to my saw this evening. I might have snipped just slightly more but not much. Some pressure behind the plug gas squirted out. I'm not sure how this will help? I'll find out tomorrow when I try to start it. Thanks for the info and pics.

    SELLING Husqvarna 545

Looks like a good deal on a nice saw! Have you ran it with the modded muffler? If so did it make much of a difference in performance? Just wondering how the auto tune reacts to the mod. Have you had any issues with the auto tune ? I've heard stories of hot start issues. Happy New Year!!!

Is 3/8 too much for an Echo CS-501

I've been thinking about a 501 p also and was wondering what it would take to change it over to 3/8 LP . I've never had a saw running .325 chain , but I have a couple running 3/8 LP and really like it.Sounds like it's more of a task than its worth. If I buy one however I will be running a 16"...

That's a big if! I may wait and see if it comes down , maybe I'll try and dicker a little , I've only been in there a couple times, but it's worth a shot. I did notice that the exhaust seems to be really restricted, not much of an outlet! The thing that peaks my interest in this saw is the...

    ECHO Echo, Echo, Echo

Just went to the local John Deer/ Echo dealer today to look at a cs501p he just got in. I asked the same question about a 16" bar. The manual does have part no. for 16" bar but it's not an option when ordering ,according to the dealer. I kinda like the saw , light compact. A little pricey though...

    ECHO Echo, Echo, Echo

I can understand that in your case because you also sell Dolmar more bang for the buck, but you would think the dealers that only sell echo would stock the 501. The guy I talked to at the JD dealer said he owns a 450 and after talking for a bit he said he might be selling the 450 to buy the 501...
