    Firewood Sales Predictions

Sales are definitely up in my area and less people doing it. I have turned customers away, regular customers are buying second loads. Lots of people using outside fireplaces and fire pits for social time while keeping physical distance. Out of seasoned wood. Selling partially seasoned (with...

    The Official Log Splitter thread

I added a dump valve to my modified toro LS9 (22gpm + 14hp Kohler command pro + country time log table) that I use at my house and take on mobile splitting jobs. Pretty happy with it. Love the wedge design on it.

    Wallenstein Processor wp840

depends on what size final product you are looking for. If you want fireplace sticks, you will be resplitting 24” wood with any machine out there under a 12 way wedge, and then probably still a few resplits. I had a 6 way on the the wallenstein and have a 6way on my TW6, both require resplits to...

    The Official Log Splitter thread

These are the ones I have seen people have trouble with. They go on the rod and effectively shorten the rod in relation to the cylinder to reduce the stroke.

    Wallenstein Processor wp840

we chatted- the wallenstein is “rated” to do 26” diameter logs which was the selling point for me as basically all my wood is 24” plus. You have to spend crazy money for another processor to do that size wood. It would handle them but was always on the edge. Resplits were also a hassle as my...

    The Official Log Splitter thread

Yes. Have one on my tw6. Depending on the size of wood, I can set the piece, hit the levers and get the next piece staged. I work by myself as well. a word of caution on the stroke reducers- I have seen reports of damage to both the rod-wedge/plate connection or to the rod seals. Many rod ends...

    Firewood Sales Predictions

Curious what folks who sell firewood think sales will be like this year? Up because folks are working at home and want to sit next to the fire? Lower because people have more time to make their own? Lower because people are not working? Lower because every Joe with a truck and a pull-on wild...
