    Wanted Oregon LGX chain

The initial exl factory grind is hard almost ruining a file most times but that does stay sharp a little bit longer , but not much. But after the first sharpening it just as soft, cuts way ruffer and way slower. Lgx is a much more versatile smooth, taller, and longer tooth. After I use up the...

    461/462/500i

It seems the 461's have a much smoother and predictable power band. They seem to last forever my old one is getting towards 10 years old it's cut a lot of trees and bucked more. After about 8 months I noticed a performance drop on both 462's but I'm thinking its plug related.

I have this too I just push through it with exl and exj. Never had it with lgx and I can make lgx faster than exl but nobody carried lgx at logging congress last year

    461/462/500i

I've been running 2 462's for my main cutting saws for the last 2 years, and in January bought the last 461 in my area that I could find. I much prefer the 461 for a 25 inch bar ( but I prefer aggressive rakers and 8 pin rim) . fuel consumption is about the same or less at the end of the day.

    230A Timberjack

Not nearly as bad as the gearamatic once you learn how to adjust it they last pretty good, what does go bad most of the time is the main bearing by the clutches and brake, it will wear its way in to the main shaft and slip

The eaton/Hercules winches are cheaper to work on but not quite as strong as the gearamatic, I prefer the eaton/Hercules. A series started about 1984 till mid 90's they are nice machines, depending how it was maintained in the past. We do a good bit of the eaton winch repair work for the loggers...

    592XP info and a surprise

The guy seemed ok to me he just didn't like the chain. I've never liked an out of the box chain

    592XP info and a surprise

It sounds to me it needs a muffler mod an 8 pin sprocket and rackers touched. Seemed he was pushing on it to cut and it wasn't self feeding
