Ahh I had no idea, I just liked the look of them, that’s pretty neat.
It’s an aftermarket carb, although I’ve had good luck with the manufacturer in the past.
Thanks @FederalQ
Hi Lads,
I’m putting an Ms390 together to give to a buddy and it’s behaving strangely when I start it up.
It’ll cough on choke and then start as normal, but it’ll then race without any throttle input.
It doesn’t respond to any carb adjustments either as far as I can tell, it’s currently at 1...
Ahh that’s a fair point, I did every field repair trick I could think of except for that, it just felt like I’d left the coil disconnected and tried to start it, there was literally no response, but I’ll try that too when it’s back together
Thanks @Brad Button 👍🏼
I’ll keep this thread updated...
Yeah it’s Mk1, I’m away for a week currently but I’ll look into that when I get back, it would be sweet if it’s that simple. I’ve had the flywheel off when stripping/cleaning recently but you never know.
Thanks @Quzick 👌🏼
That’s interesting, I’m hoping for a simple solution naturally, but it’s handy to know how things might play out if I do need to take it further.
It’s an excellent saw and has given no issues whatsoever until now, here’s hoping I can get it back on its feet. 🙏🏼
Thanks for that info @hacskaroly 👌🏼
Hi Gents,
A few months back I took my 560 to the local dealer to get it flashed so I could check the hours etc as I got it second hand from my father in law and wanted to see how much work she’d done, as I was due to get very busy.
To cut a long story short the dealer couldn’t get his unit to...
Hi Lads,
It’s cheeky of me but I thought I’d chance my arm, is someone able to search up a serial number from an 044 for me?
12046930
I’m curious to see how far she’s come, greetings from Ireland.
Thanks in advance
Evening lads,
I have a technical evaluation coming up and a part of it is identifying chains from the codes stamped on them, as well as the file size needed for sharpening.
It’s usually limited to Stihl and Oregon, and the most common chains of each, more of a general knowledge rather than...
A JB Weld and aluminium tread-plate repair on my 660.
Not sure how long it’ll last but it was enjoyable to do at least, it’s certainly well stuck on there.
I do prefer a repair over a replace.
Now to clean up the plastics.
Nice work to get with a few mates.
2 Leyland Cyprus and 2 Ash to come down,
Basket job, left with a truck load of ash for the stove, happy days
Machine delays mean we’ll have to be back, but it was a good couple days nonetheless.
That’s interesting, I brought the carb home to soak it in the ultra sonic cleaner in the hopes that might be part of the problem.
I suppose the clean can’t hurt, but it’s good to know it’s fairly common anyways.
Thanks for that, super helpful
