    Seeking welder for 6000w generator

I learned how to weld while I was going to the community college I went to for automotive repair in NC. Tanks for the input. The issue is finding the appropriate welder for my generator, which wasn't covered. Some welders specify what the generator needs to be capable of. Briggs doesn't specify...

    Seeking welder for 6000w generator

I'm looking for a welder that can be powered by my B&S 6250 generator. The generator is a 110/220v generator with a 8500 watt peak and 6250 watt continuous output. The quick question is what's the max amperage of a welder could I power with the generator I have? I am specifically shopping for an...

When I went to feed the chickens this morning one of my pullets had bruised and swollen wattles with some bruising on her face. According the Merk vet manual and other veterinary sources the pullet probably has fowl cholera. The mobile vet was already called to come see our alpacas, but not sure...

I want to learn how to tan hides myself, but have no "donor" hides, so to speak. I see on FB how foxes and coyotes like to hang out around chicken coops and alpacas, but yet to see any myself. Sometimes I hope one will come around so I can practice tanning hides.

    My alpacas would love that.

This is how I treat my roosters. I hatched all of our culls, except for one, this year myself in the incubator. All of them get a name, even if it's just to distinguish one from the other. Our "head" rooster is named Rocky, so all of his sons were Dark Rocky (Australorp Rock cross), Rocky II...

How many here slaughter/butcher their own meat? I've only done chickens and fish. Thinking about adding rabbits next year.

I'm looking for a bumper pull in the 12-16' range. Seems to be more of them in NC where I used to live as well. Sometimes I wish we had bought property in ETN instead, a lot of things would be much easier.

Now that we are getting a few more alpacas I'm looking into a livestock/horse trailer. Are they hard to find everywhere? The New England Craigslist postings are pretty thin for trailers in general. There are a few small wheelchair buses that look like they may work instead.

That's a long trip for a used mower.

Yes, that seems to be the case from what I've read about them, but my tractor is the limiting factor here. From what I've gleaned from reading about haying around the internet and this thread a sickle bar mower or drum mower is what I'll be capable of using. The drum mowers are crazy expensive...

I wrestled in a few matches in Cookeville. Not to say it's particularly close to your area, but I graduated high school in Clarksville TN. Only lived there for three years while my step father was stationed at Fort Campbell. We considered buying property in East TN before settling on Maine.

I checked on my desiccating rooster pelts and they look good. No signs of microbial growth, no weird smells, and the skins are already starting to stiffen up. Another two weeks and I'll try and sell them. With the chickens free ranging I have been able to afford to feed them organic. If these...
