Didn’t take a ton of time to run into the first issues, tho they are minor.
Filled up tank with fuel and cut first slabs with it no prob. When it came time to refuel, the oring had swelled and now needs to be persuaded into its home to keep fuel from spilling.
The cable on the oiler...
Don’t find as near as much info on these as a lot of the others, so figured I’d start a thread on them. I bought mine after using my 660 in an Alaska mill, and realizing that it was not the answer when it came to pulling a 42” bar, even thru softwood.
I do this for fun and no other reason...
This one is .063. I’ll snap pics of the numbers in the bar as well when I go back out there. This thing is awesome. I don’t know what it is about it but it’s just cool to run! The 400 and even the 550 cut so well there really isn’t much need for anything else but the Mac is just cool!
Couple more pics. I was excited it came with a 32” Mcculloch bar. With the wood out here we can get away with longer bars, but feel a 28” might suit it better?
Hey fellas, figured I’d post my new-to-me 850 over here and see what all I can learn about it. Picked it up a few days ago and took it out yesterday to see how it runs. Saw appears to be pretty complete, minus a few small things and really in pretty decent shape. It runs alright, starts right up...
Yeah I am finding that out quite quickly! I have been studying parts lists and plan to start tearing mine down and documenting what it is I have. I’ll try and get a thread started on it today, as I’m sure I’ll need some help! I posted it on one of the Mac Facebook pages recently but feel to...
The 850 is the first.. lol I’ve had some older stihls and what not but for some reason the Mac’s perked my interest and found a decent deal on a running and complete 850 a couple of days ago.. but I feel like it won’t be the last as I’ve also grown interested in the Pioneer saws…
The Mac (PM850...
Had to jump in here and say hello. The main drain to my bank account is fishing, and I spend more weekends on the water than not, depending on conditions. Mainly chase salmon and steelhead up here in Wa State. I’m a bit obsessive when it comes to gear and bait and like to make/cure my own...
Thank you! I’m looking forward to sharing builds with you all and swapping info! These things are way too fun, I don’t even burn wood and yet they seem to be multiplying..
Saw this thread and figured this might be a good one to introduce myself in! I’ve been in and out of the chainsaw hobby a few times. As a kid, I remember spending hours a day on AS looking at cool builds or doing my own research on whatever it is I was interested in at the time. As I have...
