Going back I would have tried to find an 880/088. Seems parts for these aren’t as easy to find as I had hoped.

Well it didn’t take long for our first catastrophic failure, and not sure it could have been much worse. Keep in mind this saws only intention was to live on an Alaskan mill and that’s all I have ever used it for. I have cut approx 8 or 9 slabs so far with this thing, 5 or so have been 13’ long...

    Trees you've cut

I think I could easily run a 28” on this out here, I have a 32” that would fit but haven’t tried it. It feels pretty perfect with the 25”! We don’t run into too much hardwood around here

So does anyone fish or just nah???

Well it’s winter steelhead season here in the PNW, haven’t been out in a while so spending some time getting some fresh jigs and leaders tied up! I’m no professional but I do enjoy tying! I lose too much gear to pay somebody else to do it 😂

    RIP Saw 500i

Yes obviously. I’m more confused by you stating that “they” designed, cast and machined a cylinder. Rip saw? Are you asking why stihl doesn’t port it? “They designed it, cast it and machined it”. I think that we are basically saying that apparently it’s not as easy as loading cylinder on a...

I guess? Who designed and cast what? Your post makes no sense

I’d be comfortable with this indicator, SPI isn’t top of the line but not chit either. Haas, who is a manufacturer of CNC machines has recently come out with a ton of “Haas” branded items, one of them being a co ax. Their stuff is priced at a lower price point but would be more than adequate...

Whoops forgot, dial test indicator is pretty common

Co-axial or for me it would be an Interapid 312-B

I’d be curious to see this vid and the setup. While you’re 100% correct in dialing in the bore to be straight. Did they hit the base, or the holes for the screws? That would def create some problems if they’re going off a cast profile for precise location…. A CNC mill needs at least “zeros” in...

    RIP Saw 500i

Chainsaw content on YouTube is tough 😂 while BBR isn’t all too far from my neck of the woods, there’s so much talking and not much else. Seems like an alright guy but yeah a little much for me. I do like Gordy’s channel as he has some variety and they just get down to it and cut. Lot of...

Best/Most Desirable saws of each Decade?

We will see how I do with this 850 first, haha! I will keep that in mind! Thanks Jay 👍🏻

Best/Most Desirable saws of each Decade?

Yeah there are two for sale in this area right now, tho one guy is asking 1200 for a well used one. Btw Jay, quite the collection you have! Love the shelves you have to display saws, not to mention the saws themselves! Mac 125 would definitely be a welcome addition to my collection!

Best/Most Desirable saws of each Decade?

I only ask because they do seem relatively popular, but I don’t think I’m ambitious enough to attempt to build one from scratch 😂
