Update, when I removed the cylinder there was a gasket. There was absolutely no sign that the gasket had leaked at rear of cylinder. I checked the impulse line and that was airtight. Gaskets are not available in UK, the gasket looked okay but was clearly leaking so I reassembled using old...

I did, and no movement on them. I have also now removed the flywheel and repeated the pressure test, the air is coming out all along the rear of the cylinder, There is also some white looking sealant that is loose along the seal line. Looks like there isn’t a gasket.
