Thanks for the replies. Yes, grew up around the stuff my entire life. Watched birds eat the berries many times with no ill effects. Another invasive species from the orient. If I didn’t mow, our entire orchard would be Chinaberry and Japanese privet.
Anyone ever milled chinaberry? Is it good for anything?
I’ve got lots of it. I know my wife’s grandmother use to use small chinaberry for cooking breakfast in an old wood stove. She claimed it heated faster than any other of our native woods.
How thick was the paneling? Considering a sawmill. We’ve been cleaning up after Helene. Easily have a 100+ tons of logs on the ground. Hate to see them rot or burn. My son is going to add on to his house and thinking about wood floors and paneling in a room or two.
Oh he’ll tell me, he just had a bunch of customers. The lawn business is crazy and he’s the only dealer closer than 30 miles. Has a lot of commercial guys that have to have it quickly. Plus he was on vacation the week of the fourth.
Went by my dealer yesterday to pick up my ZT mower that had been serviced. He had a stack of NIB Stihl chains stacked on the counter. Thought he might have a deal on them, but he said they wouldn’t cut and Stihl wouldn’t take them back. He was obviously ticked off and said he hadn’t figured out...
