Dynamite was pretty common around here up until 1970 or so. Farmers used it to build ponds and remove big stumps among other things. My FIL had one of those boxes in his barn. Neat find.

Buy a battery first. Eliminate the simplest. I’ve had good batteries, that tested 100%, not have enough starting amps. Those lawnmower batteries are not dependable.

We have a lot of pines that have tar around the bases. Think of it as an intense grease fire. It is impossible to put out and will send sparks everywhere. I hope I never have one again, but I burn almost every week, conditions permitting.

Oh yeah. If you burn regularly , you have that happen. It happens to every landowner I know that burns. Happened to me twice.

Mine is rated for about a ton. You have to have some weight in the back near max or it gets spicy.
