    Couple of Husqvarna 55 questions

I've taken .0748" off on a Partner 500. Base is thin but not terrible. With the exhaust at 104° it was at 260psi. I didn't leave it there, had to reshape the chamber.

Cheers RI Chevy. That was at the end of a very wet, swelchy day in a VER, VERY DEAD tree. It was nice to do the easy part and block the bugger down!!! :) plus, it was really nice just having the 6400 to test out instead of the regular MS460/1 or MS660.

What the f..........is going on here?

I second what Jim is saying. I have found that alot of these aftermarket carbs have poorly machined needle seats and once they "pop off" they continue to bleed fuel into the metering chamber and flood the saw out. Also, you need to seal your welsch plugs with nail polish and not motoseal. The...

    V-stack build

Cut or part your material close to finish length. Lay out your mounting bolt hole centres and drill and counter bore on the drill press . Next, bore straight through with your largest drill, then open to finish throat size with the boring bar. Finally, cut you 30° angled sides.

    What's on your bench?

Bikemike go further with that muffler mod. Cut the stepped sectionnall the way out, right back up to the outlet. You'll also want to advance the timing 8 degrees. Its around 1.1mm off the cast on key. I have done a truck load and they become very angry little saws! Another gain is removing...

    Experimenting on a Saw...

I know it won't work because all position diaphragm carbs are more complex than these nitro car carbs but, we can dream:cool:

Not sure? I don't think i've ever had to order an 084 coil

084 vs 088. Which is better?

AM coils seem to be hit or miss for me. The timing can be all over the place. I've swarn off them unless I have no other option.

084 vs 088. Which is better?

They can basically charge what ever they want ontop mate. It sucks for the end customer but is completely with in their rights as a dealer. My dealer is just pretty good to me because i by a metric tonn of parts per year.

Only really insane from Cannings mate. They're a dam good business but, they have big overheads, staff etc and need to make a profit. Alot of people in the arborculture industry in melbourne use Cannings because they're quick but curse them behind their back for being so bloody expensive! Alpine...
