I asked a John Deere saw guru. The 3816 is a homelite built saw. I stand corrected! He said it's the last John Deere saw made. The prior green ones were made by Efco. This doesn't answer the original question as to what homelite model it is but I enjoy saw trivia!

I was under the impression that the green john Deere saws were all made by Efco. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time!

I've been collecting homelite saws for 15 years and don't have one.

I'm hoping to make it there again! My son's wedding is the following Saturday. If I don't have a to do list, I'll be there!
