I’ve got two 50 cc saws set up with 3/8 on a 16” bar and I like em that way. A Dolmar 5105 and a Jonsered 2252. If the saw will pull it, I like 3/8 chain.
Perhaps you nipped off more material than I did. I’ve done two saws and neither one leaks much. A little spot of fuel on the tailgate is all I’ve ever had. I was instructed to just nip off a bit of a corner on the duckbill. It didn’t seem like it was enough when I did it but it worked!!

Sorry about plugging up your for sale ad with our comments. I just realized we were posting all this on a “for sale” post. Maybe it has helped keep it at the top. 😊
It helps by allowing the tank to vent out. As fuel is used the design of the vent easily allows outside air in but the design didn’t allow inside pressure out. If there is too much pressure inside the tank it could push fuel through the carb and flood the saw. Mine definitely had the flood issue...
