Definitely good project. A properly running 056 is a very torquey, fun saw to run.

Tune your saw under load in a good size log. Be sure it’s good and warmed up to operating temp. Get into a cut and lift the bar to take the load off and listen for the “burble” two stroking sound, then get back into the cut under load and the sound should “clean up” and not be stumbling, etc...

Got my limit again on Friday. Lots of fun and we like to eat em, too!

I’ve used a Bushnell magnetic bore sight for yrs and it works well. We use a Caldwell Magnetic laser boresight at work and it does a fine job. The laser works with most any type of sight including red/green dot sights and laser sights. The Caldwell is around $100 I believe.

Correct, Jonsereds have a straight top handle and Husqvarna is angled.

I’ve got two 50 cc saws set up with 3/8 on a 16” bar and I like em that way. A Dolmar 5105 and a Jonsered 2252. If the saw will pull it, I like 3/8 chain.
