I will probably try the epoxy/glue route. Not sure how far the crack goes down along the bottom part of the handle. The oil tank doesn’t completely empty out.
So last couple of weeks noticed just a bit of bar oil under my saw. Last week we kept saws in the back of the truck and noticed but wasn’t a whole lot and there was still oil in the tank. Closer looking and there is a crack just under the cap for the oil. It is on a MS390 and a new tank is $127...
Went and bought two stihl chains on New Year’s Eve to go cut last week cause didn’t have a good sharp chain with out a lot of work sharpening. Ended up being $2 an inch and cashier said hey they are on sale each one. 16 and 20 inch bars and total was $72
Morning everyone, spent last week cutting fire wood before it got pushed into a pile and burnt. 4 of us cut 6 semi dump truck loads.
Just cut into rounds and loaded with track loader.
Ran a tank and half through the saw today. Forgot to bring my adjustment screw driver, it may be a little lean at the top end. But ran better than it has all year and part of last year
Got a great wood loading crew! Was decent when we hit the woods but kept getting colder longer we were out.
Now to try and stay warm during the parade tonight!
Checked with a couple dealers and found one that had a WT-426B carburetor for $80
It doesn’t have the limiter tab on the high jet. But the low is in a different location.
The saw has 3 slots on the case to adjust the needles so still bolts on and can be adjusted easily.
Short answer years of abuse.
When I did the first muffler mod I had read the limiter tab could be removed with a drywall screw. I didn’t take the carb out of the saw when attempting that so it just broke and I tried digging out what I could of the cap and got it where I could turn up the fuel...
Apparently looks like the high adjustment on my carburetor for my ms260 pro, broke, snapped in the middle of the screw.
I am looking for options on replacement. It was a Walbro WTE 743. I would prefer not to have to deal with a limiter cap on the new one.
