Anyone familiar with Stihl 075/076 saws?

Thanks mate, bruising and sureness is almost healed, however multiple fractures in my thumb are still not happy. You don't realise how handy an opposable thumb is until you lose it. So upshot is that I still can't start the saw but will look into it when healed. Re yout leaking cap part #12 in...

Anyone familiar with Stihl 075/076 saws?

I've just done the exact same thing. Swapped a short shoulder pump in a long shoulder housing. Only fired it up briefly after full tear down a reassembly. Didn't seem to pump oil but had other running issues so didn't try to troubleshoot. Following day was knocked off a horse by a irate bull...

Stihl 076 AV Super not oiling

Yeah the bar stud threads go straight into the bar oil tank. To remove the oil pump use a 5mm bolt and thread into the pump and it should pull out, if it's hard use something to get some leverage on it. It will come out. Ask for a service manual, someone will pm you a copy. I'm away from home...

New (old) 111cc Stihl Saw :)

That idle sounds different to any of my 076's. If it doesn't have the decomp under the throttle then it might be possible that it is really a 051 with a 076 top cover? Does it have the manual oiler button? When you pull it apart, the 076 has studs and nuts holding the cylinder down, the 051 has...

    Milling long dead logs

They are just on the ground , but having said that we are in the middle of one of the worst droughts on record. I'm guessing by what you said that stacking the slabs after cutting as if they were still green would be the safest bet? Thanks Brett

    Milling long dead logs

Hi all, I have lots of chainsaw experience but exactly zero milling experience. I have a lot of large logs I would like to start cutting slabs from. They have all been cut into logs at least 15 yrs ago and some I know as long as 30 yrs. These are all Australian hardwood so the timber is still...

    Archer chain

Definitely not made in Australia, I believe the gentleman who started/own the company are Australian.

    Archer chain

    It's not made in Australia.

    Archer chain

Hooray finally there's something we don't pay double the price for. I think it's 'only' around $700 over here, I haven't bought a roll in years. As far as the archer goes I have 3 or 4 rolls in 3/8 and 404 and am very happy with it . It has increased in price though, the first roll was low 300's...

    Stihl usg

Yeah the RRP of the USG over here is about $1100 Aust, which roughly equates to your price. I got mine somewhere around $5-600, which is roughly the RRP of the Oregon. I still believe the USG is the superior machine and if you can find the $$$$ it will last you a lifetime and you will be more...

    Stihl usg

What's your power Nighthunter? We get 240 volt with a 3 pin plug. Why won't Stihl sell the grinder there? Just the power supply issues?

    Stihl usg

I've got a USG I bought new at mates rates, took a while to get the hang of it . Then bought a second hand Oregon grinder because it was so cheap I had to. In my opinion the USG is better made and a better design. Whether it is worth the extra money is a call that only you can make...

Stihl air filter or maybe not

    As above, me too. ️

    My theory works.

Actually I have an old stihl 021 with exactly that type of vent. I'm not arguing with you as it's been a while since it needed any work but I do remember that it held enough pressure in the tank that when I took the carby off without releasing the fuel cap fuel kept shooting out the delivery...
