I think the yellow is detergent additives and stabilizers, they will put in dye to emphasize this as well . Straight distilled gasoline...

Is it consistent or colors change all the time? Maybe different refineries or additives.

Most of my saws have muffler mods. I always double up, foam plugs and muffs. Some foam plugs are damn near worthless.
