I got to look through my buddy's Dobsonian light bucket. Once in a lifetime. You can't see by the pictures (phone camera through telescope viewer), but I could see a spot on the sun, and the mountains outlined on the moon. (very tiny, but I could make out the surface texture).
I found it. Yes the threads had been compromised. I remember my thigh hurt pretty bad for a couple of days. I was top bar on an oak log. It punched the handle back into my leg.
I had my 446 pinch at wot and kick back pretty hard. Same symptom. Did the same cleaning with no change. Pulled it all apart and found the lead screw was slightly bent. No fix. I think it was dragging the threads.
That clutch disc is still good! Haven't hit the rivets yet. 🤣 We always called those "dual ass" flywheels. They make up for poor pedal work. Ive had customers complain when I switched them to old school. "it's jerky now". "Nope... You're jerky".
That piston is on the loose end at around 53.92mm. 53.94 would be ideal for a well used cylinder, imo. I like what you're doing here! I agree with previous. CHECK RING END GAP! Should be no more than 0.010" I believe. Also, I'm curious what your squish picture looks like. Sometimes I'll roll up...

Took 4 pulls to find the solution to the corners folding. Excess material in the sheet needed to be formed around, so I added some dunnage. But, plaster ant get it done. Stuff never dries so it steams off and bubbles the plastic. Not to mention each removal scars up the buck. So I DO NOT...
