I think the battery stuff is going through the same radical innovation that gas OPE did in the 50’s and 60’s. It will all standardize in basic size and format after a while. Batteries will probably stay proprietary so that won’t help the point you made though.
Watched a video by a guy calls himself Novice Lumberjack running a 2165 against a 562. Not faulting anything about it, his content is great, but I started thinking about all the different saw chassis that offered different displacement cylinders to meet different price points and market to...
Red, like all proper saws 😁
For a farm saw I think they packaged quite a bit of value in it with the captured bar nuts, dual spikes, rim sprocket, and momentary on/off switch. I left the supplied b/c in the box and I’ll put a Total 18” setup on it today and try it out. If it’s a decent runner...
On a whim I bought a Makita/Dolmar 5600 for $420 out the door at a local shop that had some leftover. Seems like a pretty nice little saw, looking forward to using it.
I appreciate the vote of confidence on the Dolmar. I had a 5100s (early one with the sticker that bragged 14,500) when they first came out and it was a good saw but I’m looking to change it up to something I haven’t had.
I figured I’d see if someone on here had one, realized it was a turd, and would sell it at a discount over new. But I may just stop in and pick one up if it comes to it.
Something like a Echo 4920 or Jonsered 2051. Doesn’t have to be a shelf queen just not banged up. 2051’s are getting old now but always wanted a decent one. Interested in the 4920’s over the 4910’s mainly because I have a pile of small mount Husky bars already. Not interested in any of the...
Upgrading from an 08s is like saying you need to get a newer car because your Model A Ford struggles a little bit to keep up on the turnpike. Not making fun at all, I think it’s awesome. Just the fact you guys kept it going this long deserves some credit…and I hope you keep it as it surely has...
I used to carry a small saw on the tractor with me to clean up small stuff as needed. On a whim I bought a Ryobi 40v top handle last year and I am amazed at the torque. Can bury the 12” bar on it and it just keeps pulling. Sure it’s a little Mickey Mouse but it’s serving it’s purpose very well.
I would entertain a trade of a nice OE 2188 or 2186, something with some wear and tear but nothing too banged up. As it is, zero interest in the G9000 so far and it’s ok if I end up keeping it but I’ll leave the ad up for a while regardless.
