They grow massive here. That's about 100 years old and the 32 wasn't quite half. Got a 36 on the 395 now for the next ones. 42 be nicer but meh
Dang that was ages ago. Need some more
Yeah I tend to use it more as a reset/even em up tool and learn it's needs from there. In gum trees on the 32 the hard setting is OK but in pine or macro the soft is a tad aggressive at that length. Set it at hard then a couple strokes from there n see how it goes. A million variables.

The thing that makes the most difference seams to be the thing that gets the least attention.
The wee little do dads infront of the cutters.
Why is it that average Jeffrey Leroy can cut half his life and never heard of playing with them. They can make or break a day cutting and yet are still...
To be honest most of us stupid kiwi's call any aussie tree bluegum 🤣 well around here anyway.
If they have access to water they are soft as and grow stupid fast like 35 inch tree in 25 years fast. Then again what species? No idea but a gum tree of some description.
Some are red inside...
Better late than never 🤣🤣 I don't count strokes I file until its sharp and straight. I hog out the gullet a little with a few strokes first. I file 1 handed and hold the bar with the other. Stihl chain. I hate stihl as a company but dang nice chain
The rakers get hit with the husky depth...
Wish the 395 had a manual oiler button for this sticky pine. It's turned up full noise and drains a tank but still between cuts a couple extra pumps would help alot.
The old 4000s go OK I have a couple. Quite like em. Good solid reliable saws with a wide fat meaty power. Sort of like a 61 with a few more CCs. They are open port so don't rev but can muscle. I know a guy in the states who fitted a 272 top end to 1 and also a different crank and a 395 top end...
Awesome 👌
I do have a few lathes at work but was hoping base delete would get me close enough and then had planned on lifting the exhaust a little. A good dude on here did a lot of reading n searching about the 288 (he still needs 1) 100 120 80 are the magic numbers that seem to be popular...
It just can't be sold new or trade me bell ends are scared they will get in the poo if someone gets smoked by a saw that had no brake and sold on there site. The mit thing pretty sure on ecan or doc land is only if no brake. That's from a firewood bundy's point of view anyway. I guess if...
What a great thread guys. Be cool if Todd was on to show his masterpieces.
Now the hunt for these Poulans:)
See alot of the plastic clam style but very few of these around. Perhaps they were just to close in price to a "better" saw. I'm too young to really know why. Lots and lots of 3400s...
