One shop I worked for, had a customer who used wire "C" rings as retainers on a low speed pivot piece. We made them from "music wire"...

After getting it apart, it turned out that it wasn't a press fit pin. It was secured by snap rings....and they are missing.

So far I’ve had good luck with my cbn wheel I bought from diamond wheel out of southern Minnesota. Probably have sharpened 5-600 chains...

Will they hold together? Or are they essentially just separate stems growing tight along side of each other. I’d worry about them...
