At AGRITECHNICA (The world's leading trade fair for agricultural machinery) we were told , that STIHL will release the MS 400 with heated handles in the nearby future.
By using a sufficently designed manifold (more strato air, less crankcase air) and by decreasing the rev treshold of the strato valve, they can use this engine also for concrete cutters.
That is what "simpler" means with respect to the patent claims.
i.e. one engine allows many applications
Discussed years ago, here or on some other site:
The MS 651 has a thicker cylinder gasket.
Low fuel quality yields higher probability of misfiring.
The thicker gasket reduces the compression and hence the probability of misfiring is lower.
That is...
if STIHL offers the MS 651 in your country...
On YouTube you can find the official STIHL statement concerning a M-tronic or FI Version of the MS 881 :
Not available and not even planed.
But their (STIHL) comments about questions w.r.t. a MS 661 successor impliy: there is s.th. in the air.
Translation w.r.t.

There is a "P" on my 1990 bought 026
But I do not know the date of manufacturing
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------...
The system is still used:
Following letters are confirmed (my own tools):
T: built 2017
U: built 2018
Perhapps STIHL changed the series of letters in some year, since it does not match
with P=1990
