@EFSM - I simply made some additional adjustments to the L adjustment and it seemed to work O.K. I also showed the owner how to use the high idle setting (choke on/off) to assist with hot restarts and he found the saw to be quite useable again.

I was approached today by someone complaining about an MS250 being hard to pull over...sound familiar?
It there a boss on the cylinder casting where a compression release valve could be easily installed?

I like the Viton gaskets and have used ones from The Duke and from Proline with no issues. They definitely swell when exposed to fuel, I've had to wait a day to put a saw back together to let the fuel tank gasket shrink back to a size I could actually fit in the channel.

66251 on the left is the block number for the 797. They don't always have the 797 model number stamped like this one.
On the right is normally a serial number but they are usually 5 or 6 digits. I do not know the story on the 4 digit number, maybe Nate (Big Mac) would know @Bigmac

The original starter handle would have been a more conventional T shaped rubber handle.
I was able to add this 620 to the collection recently. It needs a lot of TLC...

I have only seen that style on the -10 models with the PM style AF cover like the 6-10.
It may have been used on saws like the Super 2-10 as well but I haven't encountered one like that.

I have found that many will leak where the fuel line passes through the tank. I don't know if there were inconsistencies in the size of the hole in the tank, the molded grommets in the fuel line, or if some fuel line material just shrinks over time...
