Hi,
Would anyone have a MS261 engine cover/shroud? I’m looking for the older style for a straight fin cylinder with the 3 carburetor adjusting holes. I believe it’s part number is 1141 080 1600.
Is there a kit for the green solenoid and orange fuel filter? My 2 closest dealers leave a lot to be desired for information! I have to tell them the part numbers I want.
Good evening, I’m trying to figure out which fuel solenoid to order for a 2014 MS261CM. I believe it’s a version 1 or 2. It currently has the black solenoid and the 1141 4700 (1535) module/coil.
Do I need the white or green solenoid?

A big thank you to all!
I opened a Canada Post small business account as suggested.
Simple, fast and easy. The chainsaw is wrapped in 20 feet of bubble wrap and the empty space in the box was filled with styrofoam as recommended. Apparently, Canada post and US PS like to have competitions of who...
Thank you
How do you receive payments from the US. Apparently, US banks don’t do e-transfers like we do!
I can not get ahold of PayPal to determine what fees I will be charged to receive US dollars here in Canada. Conversion fee? Receiving fee? Withdrawal from PayPal account fee?
Sorry for all...
Just brain storming but do you think maybe the plastic cages have a higher heat resistance or are stronger? Do the MS261’s run hotter because of emissions choking them more than the 260’s or 026’s?
My saw has a bad big end bearing. Other than that it’s from forum searches. I certainly am not going to disagree with you; I respect your knowledge and opinion. Just to finish beating a dead horse, would you recommend using the specified 261 bearings?
Apparently, a lot of the MS 261’s had bearing trouble with the big rod end bearing. I wonder if it could have anything to do with the change in the crankshaft bearings either getting tighter when they’re hot or possibly some kind of reverberation that goes through the crankshaft and causes the...
I’ve got the used bearings out of both saws and they have the same number of balls.
I don’t have new 261 bearings on hand to confirm the number of balls in the new ones. The Stihl tech person told me the 261’s have used the new bearing since day one!
