I have run both. I settled on 9000. Piston and cylinders have no buildup. A slight wash on dome after hours of runtime. heavy coating on crank and bearings and skirts.

Also after I rebuilt and before I was told it had to be re-calibrated I cut up a large pin oak and it ran perfect,idled perfect so I have no clue!

I just rebuilt a 500i and some members say I must do a recalibration? Manual says 5 bucking cuts and it will reset. Members say negative!

You are correct. I had one but it must be out of calibration as the last saw I used it on was set for specs and snapped one off so I have laid it to the side and as thread title states!
