I know an old thread, but I want to share some information.
I love the small saw for small felling and limbing jobs.
Since new i was using a 7 pin 3/8p setup. Lately I’ve changed that to 8pin 3/8p.
I use the saw with an 14 or 18 inch bar.
U can feel the loss of torque when u are using the 8 pin...
To make the filter fit, you have to modify the cover. And to improve airflow to the filter, I modified it further. You can only see these changes if you look very closely.

The trunk had unfortunately been rotting for years. It threatened to fall onto the shed on the left at some point. Of the 60cm trunk, only 10-15cm were not rotten.
We first sawed off the large branches using the bucket of a telescopic handler.

sure a bigger hole can flow more oil.
But the pump dont pump more oil because of that.
So the theory of the new fancy oil hole that are not simply drilled in. Don‘t think the answer is so easy as what google Ai told u.
And I bet Stihl does more R&D on that.
When they only reduce oil...
