I find the problem is after many years starting saws 'the normal' ways, it's getting your head around how these things work, see attached video of a 6100 starting!
It's easier than it looks, if you use the repair manual for the 6100 I posted a couple of threads ago as it's exactly the same. Probably an overkill on a 50cc saw but to be honest as long as you get out of the habit of drop starting, they work very well! My problem is remembering which saws...
Picked up a low use 6800i, one of my favourite saws. Folks always comment on the fact that you can only fit under 24" bars on them, but you can fit the bigger studs from 6400 upwards on them if you choose. I'm happy to use 20 or 22", if I need bigger I just pull out a bigger saw!
After using the easystart for quite a time on my 6100 and others, I Personally am totally ok with them. A lot of people mention the saws being wider and heavier, very slightly heavier by a fraction, no wider as the front handle governs the total width. They all have been totally reliable for me...
From my own experience the aftermarket coils seem to only work on the non easystart saws. The oem coils have a different ignition internal setup and these are matched to the flywheel, so a coil from a easytart saw will not work on a non easystart saw and vice versa. When looking for coils there...
9010 13500, in my opinion nothing wrong with the Bing, I fitted 9010 ignition set to a 9000, left the max RPM at 12800, no need to stress the old girl! plus it does do it's best work at high revs as we all know it's a slugger!
I trashed a Husqvarna 365 cylinder after fitting a new Meteor piston kit, which I automatically fitted new OEM clips to without realising / checking that OE were slightly too big, hence not fully fitting into the circlip groove, circlip came out putting a heavy groove in the cylinder! another...
The carbon doesn't look thick, so shouldn't be an issue, but looks like too much carbon, could be fuel or mixture. Circlips are always a difficult on, the golden rule is to use OEM were possible but as you're using an aftermarket piston you have to be sure that the circlips are the same size...
