    SHOW ME YOUR AXES

She's got an edge now! Waiting on a handle... Might take a file to the top and bottom of the axe, to give it a fresh flat surface. Lots of knocks around the eye Decided against using this for my wedge banger, and instead putting it on a 34" handle. I found a $20 5lb rafting head that'll be the...

    HUSQVARNA HUSQVARNA THREAD

Thanks for the recommendation! My current left hand bits I've been using are quite cheap, so I've got some nice cobalt ones showing up today.

    HUSQVARNA HUSQVARNA THREAD

How lucky am I, to have snagged a 372xp and 395xp which looked quite clean and complete... Just to find (at least) 8 stripped bolts in the cases. The 372 had all four recoil bolts stripped or jammed with a broken screw. My 395 case had lag bolts ran into the top cover, and a stripped screw that...

    SHOW ME YOUR AXES

What a great .pdf! Thanks for sharing. Yeah, from the looks of it, the only option in that catalogue seems to be the American Felling/Ohio due to the weight of the head, and lack of lugs.

    SHOW ME YOUR AXES

I've been lookin' to build myself a nice wedge-banger on a 26" miners handle, and came across this Gransfors Bruk head weighing ~4.25lb. Do y'all know what pattern this is considered? Ideally I was looking for more of a rafting axe, with the larger Poll for wedge strikes. This specific head...

HELP! Weed Eater BV200 - Cylinder Base Gasket Needed

Threebond 1184 has worked really well for me, but I can't say I've tried others either...

    HUSQVARNA HUSQVARNA THREAD

A little fun with the 359 today - Muffler mod and a dual stage foam wrap, around a winter filter I'm looking to get into porting, and this seems like a good candidate with the transfer covers. Sounds like this saw develops a lot of power from a port job!

Darn...makes sense I'll be putting in an order for that flywheel knocker tool, since I f'd up the threads on the crank, the last time I split this case. Luckily I was able to re-tap/repair them Think the bearings and seals are salvageable? Or should I just get a new SKF bearing/seal kit while...

The bearings were already on the crank, when I pulled the cases together using longer case bolts. This is my first time doing a case split, so I figured I'd be making a mistake somewhere! hah Sounds like it'll need to come back apart, to put the bearings in the cases first?

I've been wailing on this thing with a deadblow, and also a hammer with a block of oak between...damn thing won't budge!

The case is back together, but the crank has a lot of drag. Seems like it's brushing against the side of the case? I'll try to heat up both sides of the bearing pockets, and give one side a whack with a mallet

They are surprisingly easy! A big change from taking apart something like a MS441. Seems like the air filter is a bit restrictive, so I plan to cut the original material, create more openings, and JB weld on some stainless mesh. Then wrap it with an oilable foam cover.

Whelp my heat gun died right when I went to press my 462 cases together - one side at 300* and the other out of the freezer... New heater on order, as well as some various m5 bolts to use the full threads of the case to pull itself together. In the meantime, I restored an 026 red lever today...

Ok I'll give that a shot. I realized I was careless when hammering on the crank, and damaged the threads slightly... smart guy! I'll try to re-cut the first few threads with a die as well :( Gonna try this technique with the crank - seems like it would work better than using a die

I used a heat gun and an infrared thermometer. Will attempt to re-assemble using the same technique tomorrow! Maybe I'll even put the case half with the crank inside the freezer to reduce the crank size.
