    I’ve never milled with an 038…. That said, I’d think that as long as the bar is oiled and you keep the rpms where they should be any chain should be ok.

    I think you want a standard 7 spline 7 tooth 404 sprocket for your setup.

    I’m thinking your 394 may have a 3/8 sprocket. That’s the first thing I’d check.

    As long as you have the correct mount or adapter for the power head and bar, they should be compatible. What pitch chain are you running and what sprocket do you have on your 394.

    I used to run 30 miles a week. It wasn’t training, more just to clear my head after sitting at a desk all morning. I need to get back to it.
