Nope not the only one Lee.......I've bought quite a few items over the years from him (mostly back a few years) and never had any issues either.
Probably because he really wanted to get rid of those red saw parts!!! LOL!!
Yep sorry about that. I have a pair of NOS keys for you sitting right here on my desk next to your address.....a new flywheel side key and the clutch spyder key.
Im a recent lung transplant recipient so don't seem to get stuff done as quick as I think I can. Back and forth to Boston a lot and...
Although there are indeed many little bits on these saws, your scrench, an 8mm box wrench and two sizes of allen wrenches will disassemble the entire saw and put it back together again. (except for a puller for the clutch spyder and flywheel)
Yes I agree that the Meteors are the best AM pistons out there. The pics I posted were taken 4 years ago and not meant at the time to show comparisions of the two pistons. And they did run fine in the rebuilds. But I still find it telling that the white/green box pistons have Italy cast...
I am not sure that is correct. A few months ago I had 4 268 non XP to rebuild. I had two green box pistons in stock and ordered two more black box pistons. If you look at the green box it says in a couple places "Made in Italy" and has Italy cast inside the skirt..... The black box piston...
About the same as the 80......same P&C. Basically the 801 is a 90 with and 80 top end. Or to look at from a different direction...the 801 is a 80 with the upgraded air filtration of the 90. All good old saws but the 80 holds dear in my heart....spent many hrs on the business end of one...
Another great vid.......Real good to see that old 80 throwing piles of chips!!! Had to laugh at the 2X4 through the trigger handle for starting!!! They do pull over with great resistance!!! I've suffered numerous black screech marks between my fingers over the years when one of my 80's...
The only thing I can think of and this is just a thought, can you tell if the cyl base has been cut down? They may have cut it to far and did not have the ability to cut the squish band so trimed the piston top instead.
Somebody was full of bright ideas!!! Did the cyl base gasket look stock? They are fairly thick. Like in the 0.030" range compressed. I've never seen a piston or cyl like that. As Bob (Spike60) would say....."You've got a puzzler right there!"
Can't imagine why they would have used both or gone to the trouble to tap in an external line. But it would set you up to use the later boot without the impulse. The older internal type must be near impossible to find now. How does it run?
