Im thinking something along the lines of the jacks you have out there. This thing weighs 60lbs. Its going to get heavier. Springs, bigger plates top and bottom. I dont like the pivot as it is because it can fail. That bolt was 40,000lb shear and i cant believe it bent and didnt break. It was...

I made this about 10 years ago. Give me a chance for a better design that I've been cooking up. 3/4 cable and 15 ton...

That a big fir? Do you have to replant for Regen or will it happen on its own? Here you can't get trees to stop growing if you slick it off or just thin. Doesn't matter much either way. Well all the blood work came back clear but they are keeping me on antibiotics for two weeks. Apparently...

It would be a damn shame to pull guys off the hill in the name of progress, but if it's anything like here there's no one to fill em anyway. I handcut and don't plan to buy a harvester any time soon. I've worked hills that I could only drive the skidder down but would look like bunny slopes...

What do you guys use for a tape nail? I found out early on the little horse shoe nails were pretty much useless in frozen hardwood so I make my own.

Heavy hard maple leaner Cleaned up Four 10s and two 8s Ash slipped off the stump. Angled the stump/face so when it closed it would slip off the stump. It was leaned into another tree and the landowner only wanted the ash gone. It didn't go right away but was free of the stump so I...

When I bought the machine the grapple side was open. When i bought this grapple the grapple side was closed plus the pin hole was smaller. I made two hangers to accommodate that. It was cheaper and faster for me at the time which was coming up on the end of winter. That was 6 years ago I believe...

With my kids being older it's harder to get out of bed then ever. Typical night is watching them play ball until 9-930, get home around 10, grind chains and get gear ready, in bed around 11-1130.
