This carb is on a blower that someone gave me years ago. The purge bulb would barely fill with fuel. I pulled it apart and couldn’t see the membrane in the check valve. Well…. I messed up the hole trying to remove it from the carburetor.
What’s the trick to remove them?
Where can I get a couple...
There are some guys here on OPE that have successfully welded up case halves like this. I’m not sure on pricing but my goal is to get mine welded up after I install the new one I bought, God willing. This way I can still use the saw.
I feel your pain. My 500i is the same way. I was trying to find a local guy to weld it back on. But people around here look at me like I’m crazy. Sooooo I bought the case half and split it when I get a chance.
You say factory grind is poor???? Explain please. I just set up an old Simington 450 close to factory angles…. (Not trying to hijack thread just want to learn)

I started with a craftsman saw, then moved up...
Wow thanks for the encouragement!!!! I figured I would be tearing it completely apart. I will get clutch cover from local dealer and see if he knows someone local. If I can’t find any around here, I will hit up on here first a welder. Again thanks guys!!! I don’t feel so discouraged anymore.
If I were to get the case half and change it, what tips or tricks I would need to know? I’m just starting to dig on here and internet for advice.
I usually work on my own stuff. Not scared to dive in head first. I know I can do it but things like the case bolt being replaced not reused…. Torque...
Sorry taking so long to reply. Had to listen to some good preaching!!! I know the chain cover is toast but I’m just worried more about the case half. Will try to attach pics.
Today I went out to cut down a rotten tree around the pond. Well needless to say my saw got stuck. Broke the chain cover and also broke off the inside spike top bolt and case. It cracked off the case in the middle of the serial number. The case looks good other than that. Has anyone ran one with...
