  • Good evening sir. A few months back I found a husky 460 rancher brand new in the box at my favorite pawn shop and couldn't pass it up for the price and now im looking to port it and wondered if you have any recommendations? I've ported many other saws but never a strato. Appreciate any advice on this.
Hey Randy I’m wanting to post a saw for sale but like others do not have 100 posts. I have bought saws from you and Mike (Rattler). Any help would be awesome.

Send me a message. If you have guys here that you have done business with, and are willing to vouch for you, we can fix it.
Yes, the seal presses into the case. It doesn’t have the grooved bearing.
I was hoping you’d say you’ve come across a few undersized seals so I could happily order Stihl seals!
    Thank you,
    Greg
    Hello Mastermind,
I’ve read, in a few posts, that you’ve used Farmertec crank seals.
I’m working on a 038 and the larger Farmertec seal is not tight/sealing to the cases.
I don’t have the original seal to measure.

Have you come across Farmertec seals that are slightly undersized?

Or, would you know the bore diameter on the cases, where the seal presses in, on a 038?

    Thank you,
    Greg

I don't know if I've use the Farmertec seals. I've used aftermarket seals and haven't had any issues with them. Hyway branded stuff mostly I believe.

On the 038....the seal doesn't fit into the bearing rather than the case?
Hello mastermind, can you help me with some questions I am having regarding ms200t porting and decking? I finally want to make the move and start gaining the hands on experience of decking and porting an ms200t

    Thank you in advance.

Start a thread in the chainsaw forum. You'll get all the help you need.
On a 201 tcm will removing that mini hoop in line with the main jet from plastic carb devider screw things up? Also have you tried squaring the intake v on the piston for a sharper fuel hit? Its super snappy but I feel it could have a little more torque .03 off base and band 105 125 83 begin v to 75 fuel. Sorry to bother you but Posted a build thread but got no feedback.
Hello sir, just getting into my second 201t and I was wondering if the c domed piston would work on an flathead 201 with some angulated chamber cutting? Seems like a potential for a lot more compression?
Hello. Have a question, have a 550 Mark 1 head back crankshaft bearings didn't realize that Mark 2 rod was different bought Mark 2 crankshaft kit. Put it together and obviously the rod hits the cylinder. Question, what a mark to piston and cylinder fit on a Mark 1 case?
Hello, do you port saws that are not new? I have a 661 that’s a year old that I’m looking to get a good work saw port job. Thanks.

Ok, thank you sir. Check out the thread I made regarding the HEXA chain that I made. It’s super easy to make and cuts super fast!
It wanted to post in the classifieds and it says I don't have sufficient privileges to post. What do I need to do to post an ad?

Have a ported 372 xp oe (courtesy of mastermind)on the way in a month or two . Does anyone know the model # for a 24" and 20" stihl bar for that saw? I'd like to try and find a resource that matches what you are looking .
I have a 3120 with a 272 coil, and Two 3/4" exhaust outlets. when its 80+ degrees out, after running it acts like its leaning out, turned the idle screw in and the low side out. Doesnt seem make any difference. I am thinking due to the increased exhaust flow ( no more sniffle snorkle) there is more induction, and needs more fuel. I would appreciate your thoughts on the subject.

A year later, and the same issue, I have to nurse the throttle to keep it going. I have spare jets and went up and down a few sizes, make no difference. It seems as if it starves for fuel at idle and dies out. Tuning the low side has little effect. I dont have a lathe etc. Would it be possible to send you my carb for that modification, and what would you charge for it? This changing jets is getting old.

If you have to nurse the throttle to keep it going, there are other problems besides jet sizes.

I was observing that perspective as well.. tweaking the low jet doesnt seem to help.. its only starving for fuel when not WOT. If the saw is WOT its happy. New coil, new plug. new PTO seal. And impulse channel is clear.
Howdy Randy, I'm looking for a Discontinued Dolmar Coil 181-143-210 for a 5105S. Do you that 166 (Scott) is my best shot.

Mr R, what's procedure to reset computer on a ms 261m. Starts fine, runs fine but mine all sudden started very high idle after starting hitting throttle. I started on choke for 90/100 seconds but its still running away. Its very dangerous to operate as is

The sounds more like a sticking fast idle. A reset won't help that. Take the cover and filter off and look it over.
I need two piston cylinder kits for a ms461. Do you have anything on your shelf you could send my way?
