M-tronic or standard? If you'd like I can take a look tomorrow...see if there's any number changes.

Yea that's odd. The new number they give isn't available. 1141 400 1302 is the old coil number and it's still available...might try that TJ.

This site is wrong, the part number is for the non m-tronic version. See file attached (part 13)
Ah, according to that it works on multiple versions. Ok. So both would use the same module along with some others.

It only works on the non m-tronic versions of the MS 261, because the m-tronic control units have more technology (the m-tronic brain) in it. M-tronic control unit (coil) is part number 1141 400 4731.

Ok step by step. This coil that barret has listed is the old version (1141 400 1302). This was replaced by the new version (1141 400 1331) in 2015. This new version can also be used for previous version of the MS 261.

The old m-tronic control units (1141 400 4702, 1141 400 4705) were replaced in 2016 with the new one (1141 400 4731).
The new control unit can also be used for the previous version of the chain saws.
