I spent a week waiting for my new 660 case gasket to show up, only for it to crumble like a hard shell taco when I went to install it. It started with two tears that I put a bit of rtv on, then it just crumbled entirely. But, I was able to trace it out on some gasket material, cut my own gasket, and get my 660's case back together.

I rebuilt my friends 346 for the 3rd time

Rings the first time piston kit the second time
This time he wanted a Amazon big bore for some reason.
I cleaned up the ports and it runs strong
I cleaned up the oe cylinder for next time.

He engraves all his sàws
He has his name number and address on the crankcase

He had a 290 stolen from his shed year's ago and found out who stole it
He went to the guy's house and kicked his door in but the guy had already sold it
Rather than getting the *s-word beat out of him
The guy gave him a generator or tool set i can't remember
To replace the saw.

I use 404 for work, lasts longer. I can’t find 404 bars in lightweight, so I have been making them. The Stihl are the lightest.

Probably a reason they don’t make light 404 bars, but they fit my needs. I use Cannon for milling.

That’s exactly what I did.

Stihl Light are the lightest, followed by Tsumura. Sugi the heaviest of the “lights” but seems to be the stiffest.
I bought several Oregon RW bars in different lengths before they stopped producing them, There pretty light, 2 pounds lighter on a 36” over standard bar , but some people don’t like them cause of flex ,when boring , but for bucking big wood that two pounds makes a difference after several hours, I just switch out tips ,

Exactly. There’s racing and PSP saws, then there is actual use.

It’s saves me time using 404 because I don’t have to stop and swap loops in many times. I even prefer semi chisel 404 RM. Unless I hit metal or a rock, I can pretty much cut all day with one loop.

Im guessing no one goes through the trouble of producing 404 light bars because the chain chassis is so heavy on its own that the extra expense isn’t worth it. I haven’t priced the Cannon lites, but the regular cannons are heavy SOB’s.

I like the 28’s in the 404 lights. Once I actually need a 36, it’s all bucking and I don’t care about the weight. A 395 with a Cannon 36 in 404 can be taxing, especially when it’s hot outside.

One can argue that at the weight of a bigger saw, the light bars really serve no purpose. I see that point as well, 8 vs 11 pounds makes a difference. 18 vs 21 isn’t that much of a percentage to care.

Yup , I like .404 for the dirty work, Duralites are nice, but better bring a heavy wallet,Lol the Tsumura Premium are nice to .

Bought this 024 running badly for €100.
They had fitted a makeshift fuel pipe that was too wide and was flooding the saw when being revved. In fact, it nearly couldn't rev the way it was.
I fitted an old pipe I had lying around and she runs perfect now.
All I have to do now is find something to cut with it.
Oh yeah, it has a horrible Oregon chain on it. Unfortunately the chain has a lot of life yet so I'm loathe to buy a new Stihl one.

371K that's going to be converted. Cylinder looks good, not sure about that piston until I clean it up. The crank is froze but I have a good one out of a 372.

I see you have a wooden dowel on yer counter.
I have a friend that wants some made out of hickory to use as Drifts/punches in his diesel repair shop. He's in his mid 70s' so I will make him some AFTER I MAKE ME SOME.
I do have a bit of nice hickory at the moment.
