Need any engine parts, clutch cover, carb-coil, muffler, crank, I have a bucket of good useable parts.
Thanks buddy I think im good...? This one has the least hours of the three I had. Replaced the fuel line and fuel as well as the impulse line. Cleaned and kitted the carb and had it to my dealer for a carb flash or update or whatever that does. Has good compression but still isn't running like the other two did. I'll have to get into it soon so I can move it along!

Hooked air valve link wrong once, saw ran, but not good. Also had one, person had hooked blue and black wires in handle up wrong. Hard to believe it ran, but it did poorly. Have even seen, just changing plug made a difference.

I'll keep this in mind when I get back into it.

In stead of opening a new topic I might as well try and ask here.

I bought a saw that came with a 20" .404 bar set up. I want to use 3/8 chain on that saw. I already changed the sprocket to a 3/8 one.

The bar has a sprocket nose. Is it possible to use that bar with a 3/8 chain?

You can use that bar if you replace the sprocket nose with a 3/8” tip. I would just get a bar setup for 3/8”

Yes you can (as stated above, just change the tip), just make sure the chain is the same gauge (.063 or .050, etc).

If you put a .050 chain in a .063 bar, the oil will get very sloppy. Don't ask me how I know!

Not sure what bar it is. It came from a Cutters Edge rescue saw. It's a Jonsered 2171. Will have to check later what the specs for the old chain are. Guess using a proper 3/8 bar is easier.

In Europe .058 is pretty much standard for 3/8.

My neighbor stopped by and asked if I wanted a straight gassed ms170, cylinder cleaned up nicely and now I'm waiting on a piston, bearings and seals. I was surprised to see that the OEM bearings were made in China.
