My girls blew up the stock motor the second season..last winter I spent waaaay to much time transplanting a 212cc 4 stroke in the thing. Was quite a challenge keeping the hood stock, and a working headlight.
Its got a Kubota mini alternator with custom brackets and pulleys with a 12v battery and voltage regulator now. But it'll pull a sled behind it with 3 kids in deep snow now..

Is it even worth fixing? Does not sound durable.
They're inexpensive that's why there's so popular around here
A Honda or whatever are double the price.
Bat country Honda clones are around 250-350.00
I've had one for 16 years only had to do a 10.00 carb last year
Hundreds of hours on it.
My family members have 5 of them
And there's 7 or 8 of them my neighbors have
Our power goes out often in winter
The valves were only 10.00 for new one's.
She gave 50.00 for the generator
It's worth 60.00 I'd think.

16381456907777158308136606489033.jpg On my saws I like the gunning line to be black, and painting them black doesn't seem to last...or turn out looking crisp so I tried another process using Birchwood Casey aluminum black, its a acid that is used in gunsmithing. I sand the face edge of the raised gunning line till all the aluminum is shining, and lightly warm the clutch cover with a heat gun. Once its really warm to touch, I use a Q-tip dipped in the acid and one or two swipes on the warm exposed aluminum turns it BLACK..and I've found it very durable. I've never painted one that had such crisp edges..and I've tried many times. It also works like a champ on the STIHL lettering.

That's a good idea, I started to paint the letters but it looked crappy so I painted over what I had done.
