Steering head bearings from a 900 Vulcan. Never seen em this bad before.

That thing must have turned like a mid 60's Ford with siezed kingpins and manual steering!
That bike parked in a swamp for a few years or what?

Been a long overworked, overstressed, underappreciated, underpaid, one legged man in an ass kicking contest kinda week ...
So I used some super low tech, homemade and random bits and pieces to assemble a hooskie bottom end...
Spending a few minutes unwinding and concentrating on a slow and steady bottom end build was a nice change for the week.

Looks like what would come out of a sport bike that has been stunt ridden by a "learning" rider....
Or a road racing bike with a steering dampner that had not been serviced in years...

Apparent frequent flyer, 69,000 miles on it. Had a bunch of Tail of the Dragon stickers and such. When I lifted the front wheel the entire front end went back and forth to find that bad spot like it had springs somewhere making it happen. Should have taken vid. How he didn’t feel that is wayyyyy beyond me. No way could he have taken his hands off the grips for any amount of time.

I’ve seen ball bearings do this before but it’s a first for the tapered rollers.

Would love to get some motard wheels and sticky tires for my street legal cr500 and take it there, but it would be a long drive from here!! We have some decent curvy roads here on the coast thou.
