I've got an 880 with the aluminum muffler and clips, was told by another member that some of the early 880s were like that.
Absolutely correct, I had this MS880 a few years back (brought it off the original owner) and it had the aluminum muffler with the clips:

Lost power this evening. Generator is up and running. Glad I serviced it after the last power outage. Started right up. 5000 watts does pretty much the whole house with the exception of the cooktop, oven, air compressor, and dryer.

We are having a heavy wind and heavy rain storm up here in the Northeast. 60 plus mph winds.
Tree came down on power lines down the road from me this evening. Local utility company is already on restoring power, they posted on Facebook that I'll have power back by 7 am

Black Friday Poulan Pro that was straight gassed, guy said it ran for less than 5 minutes and doesn't know why it stopped. My 670 got a new air filter. Poulan 2150 in for new fuel lines. Husky trimmer with the same mix as the poulan pro. 20201130_133211.jpg 20201130_104644.jpg 20201128_142600.jpg 20201125_112623.jpg

Generator all put away. Fuel stabilized and carb run dry.
Got the case of oil for the Kawi on the new mower. Picked up 2 oil filters when I picked up the mower, oil I bought on Amazon.
Got the 55 setup .325 7 pin 18" bar, will see how it does this week.

I've got one of my "Frankenstein" MS460s back on my bench. Seems it ate a decomp valve, but luckily not while it was running.

This is a saw that would not be running w/o AM parts. The case is OEM, the piston is used OEM stolen from another 460 that did not need it any more. The tank handle and recoil are AM, and the jug is a slightly ported (just bevels and some intake lowering) HL Supply "Door Buster" jug that they used to sell for $20!.

I thought I would get lucky and just pull the muffler, lower the piston, and pour the decomp (and one little bearing) out the exhaust (the other two bearings are still in the decomp). Seemed to work, but the saw would not roll over! A flashlight inspection revealed a "dent" in the squish band preventing the piston from passing. The owner must have pulled the cord with the decomp button down there. Other than the "dent", I think the piston and jug look good.

The owner has several wooded acres, heats by wood, and loves the saw. Those silly cheap jugs had pretty good porting, and she does run pretty well (better than most stock 460s). With the BGD, I'll have to glue the jug back down.

I'll have to fix that squish band and put this saw back together. Have 6 other saws waiting to go on the bench, but luckily most are just minor problems - one needs new AV rubber (on order), one needs a brake flag, one needs a bar stud, one needs the control switch cleaned (will not shut off), one does not run, and one runs poorly.

I'll try to get some of the simple ones done here and there, but I told the owners I'm very busy right now and it will be a while on some of them.

Of course, when I asked the Tree Guy which of the 5 saws he dropped of that he wanted back first, he replied (w/o hesitation) the 044.

It is a MMWS 10 mm 044 I sold to him a few years ago. The only problem is the saw does not shut off. I'm sure the wood chips just need to be cleaned from the control switch.

Got talked into doing some electronics repair. Folks that I know pushed a welder to hard while running on 110. Welding copper on a job site, so I am told. This is a MaxStar 150STL. They blew the current regulating sub-circuit and damaged a couple of large capacitors. 20200911_151605.jpg 20201101_135327.jpg 20200917_141601.jpg 20201128_120314.jpg 20201128_120314.jpg

You find those big heavy built vises where ever you find them .I think as a new one with the exception of a few Pacific Asian rim specials about the only one made is a giant Wilton which will eat up $1000 .
I'm not certain how many Wilton medium size I have which I got when I retired as they were mounted on my many roll around tool boxes .I have two large vices ,one was my grand fathers and one I bought at an auction for 5 bucks, rusted shut .I had to heat it up with a rose bud torch to unstick it then make a brass insert nut to repair it .My brother has an old Columbian vise that's large enough to clamp the cylinder head from a small block Chevy .That one has to weigh over 200 pounds .It's mounted on a stand made from an 8" pipe and bolted to a concrete floor with 3/4" anchors .
