Bought this 266xp a few weeks ago in a box partially disassembled. Had a toasted piston and some light transfer. Got it cleaned up, widened the int. and exh. ports a smidge, blended the lowers, port matched the intake block and muffler. New meteor piston, Oem fuel line and filter, carb kit, aft. crank seals and gaskets.

She lives again, turned out better than I had expected. 20190126_191933.jpg 20190126_202326.jpg 20190126_210932.jpg 20190126_213808.jpg 20190126_213827.jpg

Went to local echo dealership to "look" at there top handles. I hoped they would be interested in a like new husky 460 rancher to take on trade. I planned on mainly checking out the 271t but the 2511t was just too light to pass up. So they didn't take 2 strokes in on trade and I spent 80 more then the 271T. So on my bench is a 2511t, gonna finish topping out a dead oak tomorrow that I started this week. I've been climbing with a mcculloch mini mac 120, I almost could of dealt with the mac for the amount I climb. Not being able to run it up side down or even on it's side w/ a half tank of fuel bothered me.

2511t ran pretty good, high speed jet limiter is maxed out on the rich side and still needs to be richer. Low speed is maxed out as well but still needs to be richer as well. The chain sucks, its real jumpy in the cut. Stihl chain on the way. Finished the tree today and was a pleasure using a light saw.

Yesterday's 039 engine assembly...take two.

Built this saw for a local kid that managed to blow it up already. Apparently they don't like turning 15 grand for extended periods. Lol

Using a Cross cylinder this go round. We'll see how it holds up.

When he comes to pick it up for round 2, remind him it's a "Farm Boss", not a "Speed Boss".

Asian 440 BB #5 was back on my bench briefly today. It is running great, but I noticed increased vibes. When the weather was warmer, I had inserted a piece of radiator hose between two surfaces to reduce vibrations. Worked great when it was warm out, but I guess that rubber hardened up in this cold weather, so I pulled it out today and it is smoother now! (just using washers under the vibration damper that came with the saw).

Oh well, live and learn, guess you don't know if you don't try!

Flippin' POS is fighting me every step of the way. Completely disassembled and reasealed the jug. Must've had some dirt or something in the clamshell??

She's covered in 1184 now...

I converted a blown 029 to a 390 years ago, using a Huztl top end, and sold it to a guy to cut (his own) firewood. He has been using it for several years and likes it, but I will be just as happy if I never see another!
039 Hyway cylinder is the strongest one I've built so far. No port work other than basic clean up along with the Cross pop up and a muff mod.

This is the first Cross jug I've used.
