Basically a muffler mod without splitting the muffler. Works good and sounds nice.
Is there a Stihl or Husky muffler that fits a Dolmar PS-9010?
I find the OEM 9010 mufflers tough to mod.

Been looking for a replacement muffler as well for quite some time Wilhelm. They are not that easy to mod for sure with only simple tools.
440/460, 660, 372/390 all wouldnt fit. The circled part in the picture is the main reason. Quite narrow between the case halfs IMG_20220915_215705.jpg

Thank You for the info, good to know what doesn't fit! :)

For a piss rew and noise contest a single muffler outlet on a Dolmar PS-9010 is barely enough!
Go with two huge outlets to secure a win.

Yeah, I came to that realization this evening winning a piss rew contest with my work PS-9010 by a hair! :D

Are there any slab style AM pistons for the 7900? Cheapest I've found an OEM is ~$100. All the AM pistons I've found are windowed.

Dolmar PS-6400 bucking action, 10" short rounds, damn many cuts.

I love this saw!
Her bigger sisters are just too damn mean and thirsty.
They come out for big wood play as seen in my previous post.

I couldn't resist her charms:

so I had to buy her.

DOLMAR PS-390 from 2006, NIB, never fueled, b&c never attached.
This is the 4th PS-390 currently in my posession, two are NIB, one is next to new with only
one or two tank-fillings of workload and one is my favorite all-day-worksaw having undergone some
serious modifications like muffler-mod, carb modified to support a primer bulb, ported cylinder, adjustable oil pump ...

I love my PS-390s

Still waiting for the piston for my 144 to arrive, I updated both my PS-8700 and my 153 with new Japanese bars:

I'd really liked to have a Red Mountain branded bar for my 166 but since Red Mountain is out of business selling bars, their'e next to impossible to find new.

Pictures of my PS-8700 are in the Dolmar 64xx/73xx/79xx series, smurfs and solo 665/675/681 thread

New Dolmar in the house !
You must not like her very much , Your woods not quite big!

And Your chain is a little bit loose.

Old school saw sound, gotta love it!

I’m afraid that is as big as I can get down to the wood yard. I recently had two Poplar logs 34” diameter. They were fun but I had to cut them up in the driveway. They were too big for me to deal with getting down to the wood yard. Yes, I see the chain is loose. I was just so happy to get it running and oiling, and I was enjoying myself:D.
It’s a heavy saw. The men that carried these in the woods could probably throw a 500I a country mile. They would undoubtedly think the new saws were toys when they first pick one up. Who knows what they’d have thought after using it.
