I still have a few NOS OEM plastic sawdust screens for the large frame saws, my price with shipping is just a bit less than what LRB is offering.

It is hard to tell from the photo, but the LRB ones appear to be injection molded (like the originals) and so should be very nice.

Correct Part Number is 84629.

Sometimes you just luck up.😁
I wont say what I gave, but I was afraid it was stolen until I got to talk to the young man in person.
According to him, it had belonged to his wifes grandfather. Been sitting for years, but tank etc is in great shape. Compression feels good. AV rubber seems to be hanging in there.
Ive never had one of these.
What should I make sure to check before I fire it?

Heres a few more pics after I got it home.
Piston and cylinder look IMMACULATE.Compression is 180.
Fuel filter had disintegrated, so I blew out the line, put in a new filter, and sealed it at the bulkhead with Teflon tape.
Has spark.
Poured some fuel in and gave it a prime.
Yep, it runs! Turned the idle up about a turn and it also idles!
The more I look at this saw, the more I think it doesnt have a lot of hours on it.
Its pretty pristine actually.
I hate to say what I paid, because some will say I ripped the guy off.
He really didnt know what he had. I did explain what it was. He stuck to the price, so I brought it home.

Who knows where it could have ended up? If you didn't get it!
Sometimes things end up the way they should , good for you ! I'm glad you got it and not some punk on EBay. Even if you paid 5$ for it.

Thanks Jacob.
I intend to get it cleaned up and checked out thoroughly before I put it in wood.

So ive never seen one of those bars. Has a Mac speed-mac tip. Made in Canada.
Clearcoated. Looks like it has some stencils on it at one time. Cant read them now.

Does anyone have a part number for the air filter?
I think the guy lost it, as it didnt have any signs of breathing dirt.

It was a tad more than 5 bucks, but WAY less than 200....
Popped up on FB marketplace this morning.

Little Red Barn has large-frame starter screen re-pops available now:

Bryce and LRB also have repo large frame air filters up. I assume 125 filters will be showing up soon as well.

More potential repo parts are kart blocks and cranks. There is a guy on the facebook groups working on 101 and 91/92/93 blocks and cranks, he's already making some mufflers and intake manifolds.

Terry Ives told me he's going to re-pop some kart pistons. I think cranks and blocks would be a real challenge unless a guy could get access to some of the original tooling.

JJ, with modern reverse engineering and manufacturing methods, blocks and cranks won't be too bad. There is a guy making all new west bend 820 engines already. Original tooling is not needed. Along those notes, horstman made their own blocks and cranks back in the day, I don't think that was done using Mcculloch tooling.

The biggest hurdle is finding a person to front the initial investment and be patient enough to make their money back over time.

Dream - I have NOS air filters on hand. There were several different part numbers and some with a thicker flange for the PM800 type saws, some thinner like the ones in the SP models. Either will work, the thicker flange does make the SF cover stand up just a bit. The earliest ones had no rubber flange, and there was a fine brass mesh version for saws using the cold weather kit ducting intake air over the muffler.

84735, 84954, 85387 are a few of the thin flange version.

I thought you guys would like this. It was posted on a logging group on facebook.

God Made a Logger…. God said, “I need somebody who will get up at two o’clock in the morning and drive a hundred miles into the woods, “I need a careful man willing to face danger, because working in the woods will be dangerous work. Thank you sir.
I texted him and asked if it had the filter on it when he found it.
He said no, but went back and looked through his wifes grandads old shop and found it!
He said it seemed to be in good shape, and he would give it to me next time I'm going through his area.
Think I'll take the saw and let him give it a rip or two when I go. Genuinely nice young fella. He didnt have to do that.
