Looks good Mark. Like how those dont have clutch covers. No worries about plugging up. Just watch the fingers around there.

Power Mac 6:
The coil is loose on the laminated pole piece.

Could there be a spring/shim missing?

I'm not sure but's there's no mention of it in the IPL and the service manual says the coil and lamination are replaced as an assembly.

I believe there were quite a few versions though.

You can always stuff a piece of shim stock into tighten it up.

Older models often had a kind of spring retainer.

Later ones were generally fixed with epoxy. I like the mechanical devices, makes it pretty easy to move a coil or lamination if you need to.

Definitely doesnt look right. I already rebuilt mine and put it on the saw. I usually keep the old parts just in case. I can look in the morning.

Metering lever wasn’t in the kit or I would have used it. [emoji90]

Poge is right.
I was in a hurry yesterday and didnt put my glasses on.
The metering lever that 67L36Driver posted sits on top of the needle. The one that came from my MDC carb has the fork that hooks around the head of the needle to lift it.
His also has no hole for the pin to slip through, just an open slot.
Maybe they made different versions, not sure.
Be glad to send this metering lever in the mail if it will help.
Just PM me the address.

Carl, That screw looks wrong like from a hardware store. Maybe it's to long.

Amazon shows plenty of kits with pin and needle, but no lever.
