My GodMother was brought up in a lumber camp.
Born in the late 1800s.
Her father was killed while logging and her mother was the cook.
There used to be “The Kings Mark” on trees.
Large enough to be masts on the Kings ships.
You were not allowed to touch them.
Till that thing in 1776. Lol
