I have owned this machine for close to 25 years and am the 3d owner. I do not know what the past owners put thru it but i have chipped and shredded a lot of limbs and branches.
The 3/4 inch hole grate is getting pretty bad. You can find new ones on flea bay but cost nearly what I paid for the whole machine.

Did find a comapny that sells a new one but isn't the same and has to be reworked at a cost of $80.00.

What mine looks like now.
Bought some round stock and am shapeing it to the curve to reinforce the edges then do some cross bars from side to side every couple inches.
