I've read, maybe confused...that a Stihl E- bar is a very good quality, light weight, and cheaper than a Japanese bar. If this is true can I get it in small mount husky?

Would an Oregon bar be similar or should I just plan on a Jap lightweight bar? My 261/262 will be together soon and I'd really like a lite 24'' bar on it but am a little overwhelmed at all the different offerings. Also. Does anyone have actual weights on lit e weight bars? I haven't found anything online.

I think they make an adapter so you could use a Stihl bar, but I don't think they offer the 24" E bars any more since they came out with the Light Weight (much more expensive) in 25".

They do still make a 20" E bar, almost as light as a Sugi Light 20", and half the price (about $45).

I think Husky makes a light bar also, but I don't know what they cost.

Cannon makes a bar adapter. I think you can find them for about $10 on ebay

You can run a 3005 mount Stihl bar on a k095 saw with dinner modification, but you're limited in options for chain pitch and driver count.

Oregon is making new light weight laminated bars called, speed cut or something like that. They'll be light like an E bar and similar quality. The Japanese bars are better quality and should last longer by nature of the replaceable tip. If you can afford one, the Tsumaras are lighter than the sugiharas and probably the best choice. The Oregon speed cut or basic pro lite will do the job though.

@sawmikaze That's not what I was hoping to hear about Oregon. I guess the old pro lite will be my first option. Please do let us know how you like the versacut, and the weight.

I have a few in other sizes, they're a pretty light bar...I don't weigh things but I'd say they feel like a pro-lite or rollomatic E bar.

I only have one in 16'' and its been great on my 55, after modding it and putting the standard ''farm tough '' 20'' it does fine. However that's why my query about the 24''. I'd like to go back to the 16'' on the 55 and have a 24'' lite on the 261/262.

Oregon’s new Versa cut bar is a light weight bar and it’s only $40-50. I got 4 of them in different configurations. They’re RW bars are 28” and up

Tsumura Light and Toughs are lighter than Sugis reasonably priced.

I have 2 Sugi Light bars, one 20" and one 28". The 20" is about the lightest avail in that size, but not so much the 28". Also, I seem to get more vibration from the 28" Sugi than my 28" Stihl Light. May be the chain, but I did change it once.

For 20" I think the Stihl E bar is a great deal, but for longer bars I will have to check out Oregon in the future. I wish the weights were posted.

If you are just looking for the lightest bar, and don't mind spending the money, IMO the Stihl Light bars are VG.

The stihl won t work on the small husky mount though? I’ve seen it done I think but not sure what has to be done. I wouldn’t buy a bar that I need to modify.
